The University of Houston System welcomes faculty, instructors and administrators to the fifth annual Innovative Teaching and Learning Symposium. Sponsored by the UH Provost, the ITLS is a UH System-wide effort designed to bring together individuals interested in the review and evaluation of emerging educational technologies and innovative teaching practices.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Nathan Grawe
Keynote Address: Demographic Change and the Long-Term Effect on Higher Education
Dr. Nathan Grawe is the Ada M. Harrison Distinguished Teaching Professor of the Social Sciences at Carleton College where he has served on the faculty since 1999. He is the author of Demographic Change and the Demand for Higher Education (Johns Hopkins, 2018).

ITLS brings together faculty, instructional support staff and administrators from around the Houston area for a fast-paced, one-day conference. Who should attend? Anyone willing to explore the affordances of educational technology, embrace universal design strategies to create accessible learning environments for all students, create out-of-the-box active learning experiences, and connect with colleagues from other disciplines that you rarely get the chance to speak with.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Driving. This event will take place at the University of Houston. For general driving directions visit this link: http://www.uh.edu/visitors/directions/
Parking. Parking vouchers are available for the first 100 non-UH main attendees. Please indicate on your conference registration if you will need a voucher. Paid parking is available at the UH Welcome Center parking garage. Parking passes from all UH System Universities are also honored and can be used in any ungated faculty/staff lots. The closest available ungated faculty/staff lots are 19D and 21B.
